Formation of moniliformin by Fusarium sporotrichioides and Fusarium culmorum.
Two strains of Fusarium sporotrichioides and one strain of F. culmorum were shown to produce the mycotoxin moniliformin in rice culture. Identification was by reverse-phase liquid chromatography, thin-layer chromatography, and mass spectrometry.
متن کاملAflatoxin biosynthesis: detection of transient, acetate-dependent intermediates in Aspergillus by kinetic pulse-labeling.
A simple technique was developed for the detection of intermediary metabolites of Aspergillus versicolor that are putative precursors of aflatoxin. Minicolony populations were allowed to metabolize [1,2-14C]acetate over various time intervals. The biosynthetic reactions were quenched by quick-freezing the minicolonies, the cells were disrupted, and the metabolites were extracted into acetone. S...
متن کاملSwitching between Successful and Dead-End Intermediates in Membrane Fusion
Fusion of cellular membranes during normal biological processes, including proliferation, or synaptic transmission, is mediated and controlled by sophisticated protein machinery ensuring the preservation of the vital barrier function of the membrane throughout the process. Fusion of virus particles with host cell membranes is more sparingly arranged and often mediated by a single fusion protein...
متن کاملTrichothecene mycotoxins from Fusarium culmorum cultures.
Chemical analysis of the culture filtrates of Fusarium culmorum CMI 14764 has demonstrated the presence of seven trichothecene mycotoxins. Major metabolites are 3-acetyldeoxynivalenol and 7 alpha, 8 alpha-dihydroxycalonectrin, with 3,15-diacetyldeoxynivalenol, deoxynivalenol, calonectrin, isotrichodermin and 12,13-epoxytrichothec-9-ene (EPT) as minor products. The occurrence of the rarely encou...
متن کاملExpression Analysis of PKS13, FG08079.1 and PKS10 Genes in Fusarium graminearum and Fusarium culmorum
Background: Identification and quantification of mycotoxins produced by Fusarium species are important in controlling fungal diseases. Objectives: Potential of zearalenone, butenolide and fusarin C production was investigated in five Fusarium graminearum and five F. culmorum isolates at molecular level. Materials and Methods: Presence of PKS13, FG08079.1 and PKS10 genes, associated with produ...
